John Deere "BO" Tractor on Steel Wheels

The
Waterloo Tractor Works was the home of the John Deere "BO" assembly
line. First produced in 1935, th "BO" could handle the load of a
team of four horses.
Being an
orchard model, the exhaust was diverted downward, and the air intake
was shielded to create clean lines. The seat and platform,
located down low, protected the operator. Wide fenders prevented
tree damage.
John
Deere's model "BO" tractors were converted to crawlers by the Lindeman
Power and Equipment Co. of Yakima, Washington.
Though
intended for orchard use, the Lindeman Crawler was productive in the
fields as well. Most of the crawlers were built between 1943 to
1946.
